Grand Marshal Justin Rudd will lead over 350 parade revelers around Rainbow Harbor in the inaugural Long Beach Mardi Gras Parade today at 3 p.m. The parade will start at the fountain in the front plaza at the Aquarium of the Pacific and roll along the Boardwalk to Shoreline Village.

All are welcome to parade or watch! With the theme of "Mardi Gras Loves Long Beach", parade participants will show what they love about Long Beach, while participating in the Mardi Gras tradition of tossing "Throw", beads and trinkets, to the crowd. Costumes, masks and creativity are encouraged!
A post-parade party will be held at the Stage Area in Shoreline Village.

Any parade participant who brings a non-perishable food item will be given $5 off for the Mardi Gras Funky Fete Concert and receive a commemorative Long Beach Mardi Gras medallion bead.
The Long Beach Mardi Gras has partnered with the Foodbank of Southern California for the past 4 years in response to Hurricane Katrina and the opportunity to contribute to the community in honor of the rebuilding effort still underway in New Orleans. |
